Being born into a family of musicians I studied viola on the conservatory of Munich and came to Groningen, the Netherlands, for a position in the orchestra there.

I always had been fascinated by bowmaking and in 2001 I had the opportunity to get training by Laszlo Tuscni in Hilversum.

Later I attended workshops given by Tim Baker, Derek Wilson and many others.

In the last few years I have been a member of the Oberlin Summer workshop, organized by the Violin Society of America; many of worlds most renowned bowmakers gather here every year to exchange ideas and techniques.

In 2023 and 2024 I took a sabbatical from my orchestra and went to work as a restorer of fine bows for one of the eminent shops in the USA, Reuning and Son violins in Boston and New York.
